Our multi-award winning team of peer support workers and volunteers come from all walks and stages of life. They have diverse lived experience pre and post Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). What they share in common is that they are all living active and purposeful lives in the community and have a shared passion to share their lived experiences to help others with SCI to frame positive expectations of life with SCI

Formerly a professional hang glider pilot, Geoff was injured in an awkward tandem landing in 2001, which left him with a C4/5 spinal cord injury. He lives in Melbourne where he volunteers as a peer mentor, and is a member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists. He’s a passionate Hawks supporter and loves going to the Australian Open in the summer.

Grant Cleary

Grant enjoys travel, theatre, writing, movies and music. He and his partner have travelled widely, internationally, including driving around Europe for a year in a hired accessible motorhome. He has been living with C5/6/7 spinal cord injury since 1979.

Harold is a keen swimmer, a fierce supporter of Assistance Dogs Australia and active disability advocate among other things. Harold has been living with C6 incomplete SCI since 1993

Jenny acquired an SCI due to a spinal abscess. She has since gone on to care for her three children as a single mother and traveled extensively overseas and interstate. She's interested in skiing, gardening and travel.She has been living with T10 complete SCI since 2000.

John Adams

John has worked for many years as Senior executive in the racing industry, post-injury. He's also authored 2 books on racing related topics. In the course of his work, he has travelled widely by plane and train in Europe, USA and Southeast Asia. John has been living with T6 complete SCI since 1984.
